I co-designed HP Superdome while still a contractor at HP. I created the signature split level look, the branding and created the 2D CAD for output to tooling.

The real challenge for this project was creating a design that was an evolution of the then current server design language while maximizing airflow needs for the unprecedented computing power for Superdome which were huge.

The image to the left was the original color scheme in keeping with the current server language.

Superdome is HP’s flagship supercomputer and was in production for over 10 years in the body style I co-designed. It was ranked No.1 UNIX server by Gartner, Inc. for 3 years. in a row.

The color scheme was changed in around 2007 and carried over nicely without any form change.

Here is the latest design style called Superdome II that was developed after I left HP.
